The foursome pulled from nearly every era between opening with “Best Of Anything” and closing the unplugged performance with “Three Weeks.” Perpetual Groove included their fan favorite cover of “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)” as part of the first set. PGroove ended the night with “Walkin In Place.”įor New Year’s Eve, PGroove kicked off the festivities with an acoustic set. Damien Perry returned for “Mayday” and later added to “Speed Queen.” The big surprise in the LIVELOVEDIE set was the inclusion of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” a cover debut, within “Speed Queen.” Th encore saw the quartet joined by former keyboardist John Hruby for a version of “Breeze” that included a cover of The Butthole Surfers’ “Pepper” within. Perpetual Groove treated fans on the 30th to a set that included each and every song from 2007’s LIVELOVEDIE. For the encore on the 29th, the quartet followed “Space Paranoids” with a cover of “When The Levee Breaks” that saw contributions from guitarist Damien Perry. Most of the songs came from PGroove’s 2004 studio album, All This Everything including both parts of the title track.

The winning setlist used on the 29th was chock full of classics focusing on the early years of the band. Leading up to the run the band asked fans to submit setlists that didn’t include any songs from LIVELOVEDIE as they would be playing their 2007 studio album in its entirety the following evening. The first night featured a dream setlist created by a fan, the second night saw the group welcome a former member and perform one of their studio albums in its entirety, while New Year’s Eve was a three-set rocker filled with gems. Jam act Perpetual Groove recently completed a three-show New Year’s Run at Terminal West in Atlanta.
